Skoda has released the first official pictures of the new Roomster.
As always with these things, it is a lot less radical than the concept car we covered in a previous news story (28 April 2005). It is basically a better looking alternative to a Renault Kangoo or Citroen Berlingo. It is claimed to offer an extremely flexible rear seating arrangement called Varioflex that allows the passenger and carrying space to be rearranged for maximum flexibility.
There will be the usual range of VW group petrol and diesel engines taken from the top of the Fabia range and the middle of the Octavia range. The new car will go on sale in autumn 2006.
