[02/28/2006] MILAN (AFX) - The rise in February registrations for Fiat SpA's Fiat brand confirm the positive trend seen in the last few months, the Italian news agency Radiocor reported from the Geneva Auto Show, citing Fiat brand chief Luca De Meo.

MILAN (AFX) - The rise in February registrations for Fiat SpA's Fiat brand confirm the positive trend seen in the last few months, the Italian news agency Radiocor reported from the Geneva Auto Show, citing Fiat brand chief Luca De Meo.
De Meo also said Fiat has so far received 3,000 orders in Italy for its new Sedici four-wheel drive sport utility vehicles (SUV), which will be launched in Italy on March 10 and in Europe on April 29.
Fiat is targeting 20,000 unit sales a year for Sedici.
Fiat's Maserati brand registrations for January-February rose about 10 pct from the same period last year, said Radiocor, citing Karl Heinz Kalbfell, CEO of Fiat's Alfa Romeo/Maserati unit.
Kalbfell added that he is aiming this year for Maserati registrations of at least 5,650 units, the level reached in 2005.
Fiat's Alfa Romeo brand registrations in 2006 are seen reaching 180,000 units, up 35 pct from 2005, the news agency said, citing Antonio Baravalle, chief of Fiat's Alfa Romeo brand.
