[03/07/2006] PATNA: The Patna Regional Development Authority (PRDA) demolished the showroom selling Chevrolet and Opel cars near the Dak Bungalow roundabout here on Monday afternoon.

PATNA: The Patna Regional Development Authority (PRDA) demolished the showroom selling Chevrolet and Opel cars near the Dak Bungalow roundabout here on Monday afternoon.
This showroom, called Pandey Motors, was the first General Motors outlet in Patna and had been in news for its alleged unauthorised structure. The cars had been moved away to safety before bulldozer began its job on Monday.
The PRDA had given a deadline of 72 hours which expired on March 4. However, the demolition could not be carried out that day due to inadequate equipment. On Monday, the bulldozer rolled in smashing everything in its way.
