Another article we missed yesterday was a terrific review sent to us by our good friend Shiv, one which provides an in-depth comparison review of the new
Mercedes E500, the BMW 550i and the Holden Calais V V8.
Originally published by Wheels magazine, the review provides Australians (and anyone else considering the three aforementioned models) with a well-written look at how each of the three perform while undergoing various testing rounds, with the reviewer eventually giving praise to both the
Mercedes and the Holden. A small excerpt from the review:
"We'd happily choose the Calais V-series V8 over a 550i, even if money wasn't an object. Of the three, it's the best driver's car, even though its handling edge isn't as marked as the E500's superiority in ride and refinement. On pure ability, the E500 wins, but the Calais is so much more than a close second-best. It's the underdog, the straight-talker, the champion that came from nothing, the
celebrity without affectation."
Overall, it's a great review, and the author does a tremendous job highlighting both the positives and negatives of each
model.

And to Shiv: thanks once again my good sir; you know we appreciate it.
