BRABUS announced yesterday that concurrent with the market introduction of the 2008
Mercedes C-Class, they in their infinite tuning wisdom will be releasing an elegant, aerodynamic sport program for the new
model lineup.
For the C280 and C350 models, options available include a 4.0-liter BRABUS-tuned engine, stainless-steel high performance exhaust system with metal catalysts and newly-programmed engine electronics. The result is an increase in maximum power output to 332 hp / 244 kW and peak torque to 420 Nm at 4,200 rpm, enough to produce a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph (in combination with the BRABUS Vmax-Unit).
If you're more of the diesel affinity, BRABUS also offers its PowerXtra performance kits, ranging from the D2 (III) package which increases power output of the C200 CDI by 39 hp / 28.7 kW all the way up to the D6 (III) package which increases power output of the C320 CDI by 48 hp / 35.3 kW. As a result, BRABUS has created one of the world's sportiest diesel-powered vehicles, with the new diesel C capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds and achieving a top speed of 155 mph.
Of course, in addition to the power enhancements, there's a wide assortment of handling, aerodynamic and interior options as well. A high-performance brake system, a sport-styled front spoiler, new rocker panels, a redesigned rear apron, wheels ranging in diameter from 17"-20", and a host of customized interior enhancements are just some of what's available to help add that elegant-yet-sporty touch to that shiny new C-Class you currently have on order.
