The German luxury car maker BMW said Wednesday that its 2007 sales had climbed by 14% to ˆ56.02bn.
The company said it expected to set a new sales record this year, with "strong" growth in the first half and more moderate results in the second.
BMW's auto division turned in a 13% sales increase to ˆ53.8bn in 2007, while
motorcycle sales fell by 2.9%, and its small financial services unit grew by 26%.
In early January, the group said it had sold 1.5 million vehicles last year.
For 2008, "we expect another record figure for deliveries," a BMW statement quoted chief executive Norbert Reithofer as saying.
