More M3 models for SA - prices

[02/01/2008] BMW is set to expand its M3 range in South Africa with the introduction of the four-door sedan and convertible derivatives.

BMW is set to expand its M3 range in South Africa with the introduction of the four-door sedan and convertible derivatives.
Like their coupe siblings the M3 sedan and convertible are powered by BMW's 4.0-litre V8 developing maximum output of 309 kW and maximum torque of 400 Nm at 3 900 r/min. Maximum engine speed is 8 400 r/min.
For the sedan acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.9 seconds while it takes the drop-top version 5.3 seconds. Top speed for all models is of course limited to 250 km/h.
A 6-speed manual transmission is standard but all M3s will now be available with BMW's new seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) as an option.
