Among stiff competition from clothing brands, booze, and gun manufacturers, Mercedes has topped the list of most-frequently mentioned brands in Billboard's Top 20 list for 2005, according to American Bandstand.
Car manufacturers in general did very well this year - Cadillac, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Chevrolet all finished very high on the list. Despite numerous threads on Autoblog this year involving Chrysler and hip-hop (here, here, and here), the boys in Auburn Hills didn't get enough love to crack the Top 10. 50 Cent took home the dubious honor of mentioning the most products in '05, dropping the names of numerous automakers along the way.
